Hi, would anyone mind sharing what their schools have required in terms of end of term reports this term? Is it the same as usual or different due to COVID? Specifically secondary and even more specifically, Y10? I am asking as a parent but I am also a teacher. Thanks!

We had to write normal long reports (primary). Considering I wrote an interim report with 'things they are good at' and 'things that need work' back at Easter, it was entirely pointless. I've not seen them since, and am not going to judge anything on work done at home. Took me 23 hours to write reports that are pointless.

I absolutely agree that is pointless! I have a friend who also works in primary has also had to do similar. In comparison, I also have a friend who works in secondary who has had to do none! And my own y10 has had a minimal report with one number for effort and progress (same number, not two separate ones!)

What would have been good is a score for effort - listed by subject. Maybe a similar score about preparation for learning? Independence - in primary especially.

Then the waffle that the teacher writes. That's all parents (ME!) would have been interested in I think.

We had to do written reports (first time in a long time) for 1 yr group as we missed parents evening which was fair enough. Other than that no data collected since we closed. Parents have had parents evening and two data drops this year.
As a parent DD's secondary parent evening was cancelled and have heard nothing from the school about progress or even just how she was getting on in lessons. Younger dd primary had her end of year report just after Easter.
