Part time SMT?

Do part time SMT positions exist in Secondary schools? I am looking at getting back to work post babies but ideally I would like to work 3-4 days a week. I don’t really want to take a step down but I have not seen any part time SMT roles advertised.

My job is middle management rather than SLT. But I recently applied for a full time position and then in interview asked if they would consider employing me 0.8. They did and I got it :-)

I was a senior teacher and part of slt on 0.6. It's always worth asking.

I think there are plenty of part time SLT, but most of them will have gone PT while in post.

I've created my own pt job twice by negotiating during recruitment, so it can definitely be done. It depends a bit on how many quality candidates they are going to be able to conjure up for the type of post you want. If it's a post that is hard to recruit to in your area, you have a good chance.

This. Apply for the full time roles then ask for 0.6/0.8 at interview. Good luck!

I usually address at the application stage. If they really do need a full timer they'd be pissed off to allocate you an interview slot and then have you declare yourself unsuitable.
