I've seen advice from our HR consultants. Basically, atm the advice is that where possible, people with particular health concerns for themselves or their families should be supported to wfh wherever possible.
However, if it is deemed "critical" that they perform their role in school and they refuse to do so, leave should be unpaid. ATM most schools can support staff wfh, indeed there is plenty to do remotely, but as numbers of students in school increase, this will become harder to do. Schools can't be in a position where they are paying teachers to stay at home and employing cover.
If you currently feel unable to be in school, what would you do if you were told staying at home would be unpaid?
