Been at a school my whole career. Moved last Sept to bigger and better school and higher tlr. Doing my npqml etc.
I'm not happy. Not really. I'm worried about lockdown.ending cos I'm enjoying not having to go back. Management great, but kids are not and I'm sick of antagonism every day.
40 mins away, which, where I live, is quite unusual. And makes for v early starts for my own.kids.
Job has come up 20 mins away. No tlr. Now, do I stick it out and hope next year is better? Or do I back track and just teach and apply for this one? Been at it 20 years and still can't decide if I want to be hod or not. Seen too many burn out (core subject).
But would I be just as busy and then.just pissed off at not having any control? Been.in.various roles for 15 years. I know bank holiday isn't the right time, but all.days are the same at the moment.

It’s hard isn’t it. I travel for 45 mins but it is worth it for me as I like it where I am.
Would the children be very different at the new school? Can you reasonably find this out whilst lockdown is ongoing?
I would be hesitant to move if you have great management.

I know .people who know people there. Jobs don't come up there that often , which bodes well.
Feel like current place was misrepresented, but unsure how I'll feel not having responsibility.

I would go for the closer to home job. I think in my experience some schools just 'fit' and others don't. I wouldn't stay where I wasn't happy, especially if it halved my travel too.
Good luck OP.
