What do you make of this?

Schools could go back even whilst social distancing rules are still in place?

Have these people ever been in a school? School corridors/classrooms anyone?!

Have you ever experienced the morning and afternoon school commute on London buses? They are absolutely packed. Tin cans crammed with children and adults on their way to school, college and work. Those poor bus drivers.

Bugger the parents! I think a staged return in phases / part days is best given the mental health of some students. So even half of Year 10 in one day followed by the second group the following day will be fine with me. Even Year 10 can not cope with a 7 period day of on-line lessons. So sad that I had a boy break down part way through the lesson say that all the on line teaching and work expectation was too much

Hey I’m new to this thread, but I am a primary teacher and someone who is now caring for my little sister while my grandmother shields herself. What are we thinking about going back after half term? I think it would be crazy to go back before September, how are teachers meant to social distanced? Children in schools will most certainly not be social distancing, and what about all the children who have a loved one at home with an illness who need to shield, let alone teachers who live with someone who is at risk. I don’t know whether people will be prepared to risk their lives and the lives of their loved ones just so the economy can get started again. With (in some cases) 5-6 weeks until the summer holidays anyway it seems ludicrous and unsafe. I can also tell you that not all schools are having the same attitude to safety as others. My school has no PPI and no distancing while working with key children. But my partner’s is amazing and full covering, changing clothes when arriving and putting in plastic bags etc. People shielding themselves won’t suddenly be safe as soon as 12 weeks is up, just the NHS will be able to cope better. So on an individual basis- people will not feel comfortable risking their lives- no work will be achieved at school either, with many children missing and social distancing measures distrusting everything. Maybe I’m wrong, and I can see that schools need to re open for those essential workers otherwise they can’t go in. Is there anyone on here who is in a position where they would be worried having their child go in because they themselves have a medical condition?
