So staff this applies to are correct to tell me they can't work?

No, it's if you've had the flu jab for underlying health issues I think. If you've had it just for work reasons that doesn't count. I'm sure the guidance said this.

Yes - I think it's as an indicator of who is vulnerable rather than the flu jab itself if that makes sense.

And again it takes the closures out the hands of the government and forces people to make that choice themselves. The same with the restaurants, pubs and theatres.

Asthma UK for example say severe asthmatics will be contacted over the next few days with measures. Others are socially distancing which includes working from home if possible.

This seems to say that those with asthma should be withdrawing from school by Monday.

I have mentioned this to my school and have been told I still need to be going into work. They said they have not been advised that people with asthma should be off.

Teachers at my school with underlying health conditions and those that need to isolate for 14 days due to someone in household showing signs aren't coming into work. This has meant not enough staff so school has closed.

It must be for those who have the flu jab on medical grounds surely. Otherwise we will have nobody left in the nhs as they are all asked to have it every year...

This is the nhs guidance. Doesn't mention anything about the 12 weeks for normal asthma. At odds with other guidance.

As well as teachers will anything be done for parents in the at risk category about collecting their child/ren from school if nobody else can do so for them? I think many of those parents will withdraw their child if schools don’t close first.

No, but it says be vigilant about social distancing. Whereas I have many many children i deal with in close proximity daily. So how can I?

People who are asked to have a flu jab for underlying health reasons should observe the social distancing rules "strictly" and work from home where possible with immediate effect.

People who have severe health conditions (cancer/ dialysis etc) will be contacted directly by their GP by 26th March at the latest and advised to isolate for a period of 12 weeks initially.
