I am pastoral staff, line managed between two of the assistant heads. My role fits under SEND and Behaviour so they share me. The head teacher leaves at Easter.
I'm applying for a new job, and I don't know who to put as my referee for this job. The closing date is the last day of term, so if they take references after that then the head won't be there.
I'm tempted to put one of the assistant heads but is that the right thing to do, or do I put the head and assume it'll be passed to someone else.
Also, what is the correct etiquette for when I tell someone at school I'm applying? Especially given we might close imminently.
