Mat leave cover

I am due to start my maternity leave in a couple of weeks and my school has just arranged my mat leave cover. We are a very small friendly school and the teacher who will be covering me is a very new teacher. I want to leave her a nice little gift for her first day of teaching. Nothing too big, just something helpful and to know that there is support there if needed. Can you think of any ideas I could use?

Will you have any overlap time?

Maybe a little ‘How to’ guide with any really important information about the children. What makes them tick? How to get them on side? Any specific medical/learning needs and how you’ve been tackling them so far?

I'm did a short maternity cover last month. On my first day, I had to hunt through the staff area for planning and print everything off for lessons that day... with that in mind, it would probably be a nice gesture to leave clear instructions for finding everything and have all lessons prepared for for the first day... unless you have made other arrangements that is!
