Coping with Coursework Stress As a Teacher

If you are responsible for teaching, administering and marking coursework (NEA) for a whole cohort, any advice on how to cope?

I have been doing this quite successfully for 5+ years but it is really getting to me this year. Have broken the work into chunks with what should be manageable deadlines for the students but some are just so lazy. Spend so much time chasing and getting parents involved. It should not be this hard. If they fail, I get all the blame!

Any experience/advice appreciated? X

I feel your pain! I think because most subjects don't have coursework any more there's no understanding of how much time it takes. It normally takes up my Easter holidays.

Yes, exactly. I don't think it is fair to load this on one member of staff and am going to try and get someone else to help me in future. I don't mind hard work but there has to be a limit for our mental health.
