Where next for a teacher?

To keep it brief - have been a teacher for 6 years, but am starting to think about moving to do something different (I know I won't be alone in this)
I'm struggling to find a possible career path that wouldn't require a massive pay cut. Any success stories of people who have left teaching and found something elsewhere? TIA

Civil service. Living the dream (sort of, it has its own foibles but even the worst of it is still a million times better than the worst bits of teaching).

Have you been in the same school for 6 years? If so I really recommend finding a school that you like more before you quit. It can be a completely different job.

If not, I don't know! I went into Adult Ed but even though I loved it the pay was appalling. Now back at secondary and loving it (though a bit stressful at the mo, see my thread in staffroom!).

I hope you find something that makes you happy Smile
