Children with SEN while SATs are on?

If you have children who are not taking the SATs due to special needs, do you have a plan for what they will be doing? They have their regular work, but before SATs start it's just going to be revision a lot of the time, and it's not really fair or productive to have them do the same volume of maths/English as the others.

We have four children in Y6 who are not able to take the SATs, or really participate in any prep for them. We are thinking of doing a project of some sort, which they can all participate in, but I'd be interested to know what you do at your schools. They all have 1-1 support, but some of it is only part-time.

I have 4 children in my class that are working at below year 2. For a variety of reasons they do not have ehcp's although the school have tried.

Two of them are highly disruptive and I have no TA. I am giving the disruptive ones independent work focused on their interests for the mornings while I teach for the sats. It's things that will hold their attention and can be done independently as far as possible. Otherwise it just is not fair on the other 29. In the afternoons they are with me getting their maths and english input through our topic work and it's then I work on sentences, number bonds etc.

It is highly stressful and I hate it. Inclusion without enough support is killing teaching.

I'm a 1:1, most years where the child i had at the time hasn't been taking SATs we've used the time the rest of the class are revising to do some Maths and English work and then interventions and sometimes nurture time depending on the SEN. The 1:1 TAs work together so between us we have the ones with part time and no support as well.
