School conducting an “Ofsted” Staff Survey

My school is in the throes of preparation for a potential Ofsted visit and we have all been asked to complete an “Ofsted Staff Survey” (essentially a copy of the official one). We haven’t been given a reason or told how the results will be used. There has been no mention of confidentiality.

Has anyone else experienced this, and if so what happened?

I would expect anyone writing anything negative would be called into a meeting and re-educated into a more appropriate response.

This sounds ridiculous.

I know what my husband would say to that and it would end in off.

We aren’t asked for our names but I think replies might be identifiable. It’s not a nasty school, but I’m uncomfortable about the idea and I wondered what others thought.

Thank you both for your replies.

I never filled in the real ones, never mind the fake/find the disloyal minions ones.

I'm not stupid.

We did this at my school. Responses were anonymous - highlighted responses. It was a useful tool to capture staff voice. It helped us identify a focus for our SIP

rather legendarily, my school didn't do an actual Ofsted staff survey when they were really in. the head said he was conscious of our workload and would be 'too busy' to reveal the things he was hiding

noblegiraffe · 07/02/2020 23:47

Better than them doing the survey, staff complaining about SLT and Ofsted concluding that the staff complaining were the problem Hmm

echt · 08/02/2020 00:49

Your SLT need to ensure the survey is anonymous before you comply.

FredaFrogspawn · 08/02/2020 00:51

Ask them these things. Do you have a union rep? If so and you are in the union, ask the reps to bring it to the head.

Our schools do non OFSTED questionnaires, different sets of questions are given to pupils, parents and staff. All anonymous. Then SLT and governors review the results

I filled mine in on the assumption they would at some point know it was me.
I lyingly made it glowing and praised management to the hilt
