Please do. You’ll brighten both their days.

Selfsettling3 · 16/01/2020 19:42

Definitely. Head would probably say something nice to the teacher. Head and teach will both feel happy. Unfortunately people are much quicker to complain than to praise.

TerrifiedandWorried · 16/01/2020 19:42

Please do this!

RippleEffects · 16/01/2020 19:43

It'd get passed down the chain of command and give them some strength to fight another day.

SpiderHunter · 16/01/2020 19:52

I keep a "happy folder" of nice emails from parents - it really helps me on the tough days.

BabyWontNap · 16/01/2020 19:53

It will tell the head that the teacher is doing a great job! Making a difference. I'm sure it will brighten the teachers day!

Sewingbea · 16/01/2020 20:00

Please do. It'll only take you five minutes but that teacher will be pleased and will remember that for a long time.

I did this for my DD’s teacher last year, who was just excellent with her, and I got a lovely email back from the head thanking me and saying how rare it was but how appreciated, both by her and the teacher.

willothewispa · 16/01/2020 23:58

Email sent Smile

My head wouldn't even pass it on!

BodenGate · 17/01/2020 00:14

Definitely do it but copy the teacher into the email too so that you know she’s read it.

willothewispa · 17/01/2020 00:29

Ah, that's a good point. I don't have her email though.

Glad you've done this. At my school all teachers are contactable by email but when it goes via the HT, it gets noticed. My HT always passes them on.

willothewispa · 17/01/2020 01:54

She much deserves it, what she's achieved with my Dc is incredible.

This is lovely! Thanks for doing this. I'm sure it will be appreciated.

MaureenMLove · 17/01/2020 06:14

Spiderhunter, I also keep a 'feel good' folder in my emails! Every little helps!

AdmiralSirArchibald · 17/01/2020 06:56

Always a lovely message to receive. We also have a parent who regularly brings us cake for no immediate reason. That is also much appreciated!

mynameisnotmichaelcaine · 17/01/2020 07:07

That's really kind. It's so rare, but when you get a message like this from a parent, it gives you such a huge boost.

ellesbellesxxx · 17/01/2020 07:08

Awww that’s lovely, you will make their day! X

I forgot to get DD to do a Christmas card for her teacher. I just emailed the teacher directly and said I'd forgotten cards and I assumed she had more wine/smellies/chocolates than she could shake a stick at and just said how much DD loves being in her class and how happy she was.

Teacher seemed delighted.

SquashedFlyBiscuit · 17/01/2020 07:13

I left classroom teaching a while ago... and still have some of my cards with the lovely messages in!
