Non-teaching task at interview?

I am currently applying for teaching jobs (SEND related) after stopping work to look after DS for the past couple of years. One job I'm applying for says that there will be a teaching task (to be expected) and a 'non-teaching' task before a formal interview. I've not come accross this before. Does anyone know what kind of task this might be? I'm quite stumped .

I had an interview once where I had to sit parts of SATs papers to prove my subject knowledge. Got all questions right then was told I didn't get the job because of my subject knowledge 🤔.

Replying to an email from a parent.
Looking at some data and identifying priorities for support.
Talking to kids/TAs or SLT about something.
An in-tray exercise - list of tasks to prioritise.

At my school we give interviewees a data task. A set of data for a class and ask them to state strengths weaknesses and next steps. Sometimes scenarios that include child protection 'what would you do if...'

Our interviewees sometimes have to write a medium term plan, set some learning targets from an EHCP, write evidence statements for a given piece of work. Or a written analysis of the lesson they taught.

I’ve had to write a letter to a parent and a medium-term plan in different interviews. Quite good if you’re confident about what you’re doing as interview lessons are so variable, whereas this is more the kind of stuff that’s really useful to be able to show you’re good at.

The non teaching task at my school is to plan a lesson within half an hour. They have access to the internet and a variety of textbooks. It's so we can see if they can plan for themselves efficiently (lots of people spend a long time on planning the interview lesson and ask colleagues for help, etc which isn't feasible on a day to day basis).

In the past I’ve had to 1) grade a GCSE response and provide feedback 2) reply to an email from a parent 3) make a lesson plan under timed conditions.

Data task...book scrutiny.. moderation.. interview by school council... write a school development plan...

Fwiw I think you should be told what the nature of the task is so that you can research the school and be prepared...but I might be bitter
