Five hour parents evening

Is what we have to do this year. We are allowed to plan in up to an hour of break but not at the end, so no leaving early.

Anyone else? It seems crazy to me!

We have x2 2.5 hours. 10 minute slots.

Is some of it during the school day or all after school? What time do you finish?

Ridiculous why not? I can’t bear that kind of petty control freakery.

Have you seen a directed time budget?

We do 6x3 hours at secondary but can leave if appointments are all done. I don't wait around for the "maybes". I'll happily phone the next day though.

We finish early that day, so it will go from beginning of p 5 right through to 7.30

That's a long day, we don't finish early but the parents eve is 3.30-6.30.

If it's in the directed time budget then it has to be done I'm afraid! The breaks thing is bloody stupid.

Those of you who are referring to a directed time budget, where can such a document be found?!

Teachermaths · 01/12/2019 20:59

Ask your HT, every school should have one.

Freemind · 01/12/2019 20:59

The head, bursar or similar should have one. When I was union rep I checked it every year.

I have 5 parents evenings this year in an FE college which go on until 8. They start at 430 as lessons stop so not even time to eat.

Working in a private nursery...
Normal shift would be 7am -4pm then Parents evening 4pm-7pm....
Two days in a row.... That's a long day

How many dcs' parents do you need to see ?

I'm presuming you are secondary (as you can't have that big a class if you are Primary), so I presume if you are going to fill all your slots this time, then that means you will have a much smaller timetable for another year group's PE ?
