The guilt of being off

Just that really. I'm up as I've picked a bug which has had me running to the loo all night (sorry TMI) and obviously can't go to work for the next 48 hours due to said bug.

This has left me feeling really guilty and triggered my anxiety as I'm now worrying that they are going to think I'm skiving and that I'm letting down my exam classes.

Anyone feel like this on the rare occasions you have to take time off?

Yes! I have been ill with bad cold all week and virtually lost voice yesterday. Should have taken a day, felt awful but didn't want to leave anyone in the lurch. You can't go in, it will be fine it is only a couple of days.

BTW I am up because my coughing fit has woken me and now I can't sleep.

Glad it isn't just me. Sorry to hear your cough is keeping you up.

My sensible brain knows I can't go in and that I'd be stupid to even try whilst my anxious brain is just running through everything that needs doing.
