Well, for me, it's the last day off before we return to school! Back tomorrow for an INSET Day.

Planning a nice relaxing day today before the madness starts again!!

I'm quite excited in a way because I was promoted before the summer so I start that role properly tomorrow. I will miss my days at home doing whatever I want though.

Anyone else back tomorrow?

Hope you all have a good day. My brain was a bit shocked by the 6am alarm, but I’m thankful that my own DC are not back at school today. Just myself to sort out and no dispute over bathroom time.

Hello, went back last Thursday. Work at a sixth form and needed to enrol new year one students, so the old y11s ... they were all so delighted with GCSEs and so exhausted too! I had the morning shift and I think many hadn't seen the morning for weeks!

First of two insets tomorrow but my two start their first full week at nursery today. It's back to full time for the first time since July 2015. Little bit nervous about how we're al going to cope! Thanks

Morning everyone. Good luck today. First full year with our new head and I'm a little nervous. Our school is generally lovely but everyone is anxious that the head will try and make their mark. Ah we will soon know.

I am not a teacher but an SEN TA just said to my husband "have a good look this the last time you'll see me without bruises until next August"
It infuriates me I am paid so little I can't afford to work part time yet I am in one of the few jobs where violence towards me is tolerated and not even just tolerated but expected.
I used to think August made up for it, but that was when violence was rare, now it is everyday and we are mainstream goodness knows what specialist provision must be like.

I start back today. 2 days of 9-4 training before pupils are back on Wednesday. Luckily I have the new early years starters so mine aren't starting this week but I feel very sorry for all my colleagues with no time to prepare. Feeling exhausted (I never sleep well the night before) but looking forward to seeing people.

MsAwesomeDragon · 02/09/2019 07:17

Another I'm sorry you get violence on a daily basis, it's awful that that's expected and accepted. Flowers

Dd2 is now up, ready to go to the cm. I think it's the first time she's been up before 9 all holiday. She's annoyed that I "get to go back to school" and she just has 2 days with the cm before she's "allowed" to go back to school, lol.

Thank you MrsAwesome it will be fine once I am back, I totally understand that some children genuinely can't control their reactions. It is just going back to hyper alert after relaxing for 6 weeks is exhausting.
That and some children are not able to slot back in to having limited choice after a summer of more relaxed rules, so the first couple of weeks back are the hardest "we don't play Minecraft at school, now writing next lego" - chair comes flying across room.

Hope everyone had a good day!

Mine was good - very positive due to great results this year!

My room is all ready and I feel quite organised at the moment which will no doubt change by Friday Grin

Children are back tomorrow -I have a Y7 form then two Y7 lessons so lots of new faces but I'm excited!
