...out of existing budgets.

Eh? A lot of schools couldn’t afford to give the 1% they were supposed to fund this year so how will this happen?

Not that I think it will apply to me as a UPS teacher anyway.

In Scotland we’ve just had 3% for 2018 7% for 2019 and will get another 3% for 2020. Top of scale unpromoted teachers salary will go from 36K to 41K in April next year.

Yes sweetkitty and it took the threat of strike action to make it happen. There's no question here about it being paid, it just will be. It must rub salt into the wounds of teachers to be given a woohoo rise and then not actually get it Flowers

We had 10 redundancies to cover the 1% - including the head of English, so no one is safe! There was already some talk of cutting music. I'm not sure it will come to that, but schools are struggling so maybe I am being to optimistic.

Well if Scottish teachers can threaten strike action and get their deserved rise.

My school is not an academy and none of us has received a penny from the last supposed pay rise, so I'm not holding my breath on this new one either.
