Teachers Gifts

Hi MNetters, my 7 year old changed schools in January, and his teacher has been instrumental in settling him into the new school, meeting new friends, he has simply been outstanding.

As its last day of term tomorrow we would like to get him a gift to say thank you and how much i appreciate what he has done for my son. Any suggestions what i can buy him please?

A card written (or even made) by DS, something related to a hobby/ interest, vouchers (not for books, ain't nobody got time for that), flowers or wine (assuming no religious/ cultural reasons not to). I'd steer clear of mugs and stationery, there really is such a thing as too much of a good thing!

It’s always said but it’s true... a handwritten card/letter saying what you said in your post will be one of the better gifts.

When DC1 had similarly outstanding pastoral support from a teacher, I wrote her a card at the end of the year, and then wrote to the new headteacher at the beginning of the new academic year - praise and thanks is so lacking and is therefore so highly valued.

I have spoken to his teacher and told him just how grateful we are too him, he is by far the best teacher any of my kids have had. We have written the card tonight, i just wanted something to go with it.

Lots of the staff at my school have received John Lewis vouchers this year. Seems to be the class collection gift card of choice at the moment.

Wine and chocolate is going down well amongst staff too.
