Discounts for education staff

I moved from the NHS to education a few months ago.

Is there anything similar to NHS discounts for education staff?

No, sadly not.

My City Council do have a 'Rewards Scheme' at quite a few places in the City, (generally, discounts), but they only apply in our home City.

If you do hear of a scheme though, do come back and tell us Grin

O2 do discounts for education staff. As do Apple.

Alliumlove · 16/07/2019 23:26

Our council do half price gym membership.

Partridgeamongstthepigeons · 17/07/2019 13:16

CSSC open to all education staff- discounts on English heritage, sports activities and other things.

veneeroftheweek · 17/07/2019 17:56

CSSC can be worth joining. As well as the discounts mentioned above you get a free taste card and money off gym membership. It's worth having a browse on their website as it's not immediately clear how much you get for your money.

A friend sent me this yesterday
www.discountsforteachers.co.uk

Not looked at it yet in depth yet but from what I've seen so far looks ok.

DinkyDaisy · 26/07/2019 09:52

Just teachers and not TAs etc?

arewethereyetmum78 · 26/07/2019 09:56

I've used discountsforteachers a few times and I'm an EYP. Some of the TA at work use it too so not exclusively for teachers. I've used it for discount airport parking and money off insurance.

DinkyDaisy · 26/07/2019 09:58

Thanks- I shall have a look.
Feeling particularly broke at the moment!

Sparklyshoes16 · 26/07/2019 10:50

@DinkyDaisy As far as I'm aware it's for anybody who works in education. The person that sent me a link is a TA.

NannaNoodleman · 26/07/2019 13:42

I had a look on discountsforteachers but I'm not sure what to tick as therapist. Is it ok to tick TA? Do you need to prove your job role?

Sometimes you do, for instance I get a discount on my phone contract because the council I work for have a contract with them or something, it’s worth asking (Vodafone) Applies to NHS & various companies too I think.

Theatre near me sometimes has a 2 for 1 offer on certain shows for teachers, NHS etc.

Union recently started a discount scheme too.

Sparklyshoes16 · 26/07/2019 13:59

@NannaNoodleman I'm not sure as I'm a Teacher so just selected that box, sorry I can't be more helpful.

I'm not sure if you're aware but if you've name changed it's not quite worked your also coming as @DinkyDaisy apologies if not.

NannaNoodleman · 26/07/2019 14:08

Thanks.

I'm not DinkyDaisy Smile

Are you a member of a union? NUT (no longer but can’t remember new acronym) do discounts.

seven201 · 26/07/2019 15:14

Thanks for this thread. I've just tried to sign up for the discounts for teachers cash back card but it keeps telling me my email isn't a work one (it is)!

monkeysox · 27/07/2019 15:17

Nasuwt do discounts or used to.

wasgoingmadinthecountry · 30/07/2019 23:16

My favourite on Discounts for Teachers - 25% off Eurocamp, but after the end of August, the discount goes up to 40%. Thanks for that!!

negomi90 · 30/07/2019 23:24

Uni lectures can get an NUS (now TOTUM) card using their ac.uk email. Then you get all the student discounts.

NannaNoodleman · 31/07/2019 14:16

An NUS Card??? That's amazing!!
