I don’t know about you guys but I’m ready for the break! It feels like a really long term and everyone especially the children are tired

Yep! Children are on their knees and so am I!!

elephantoverthehill · 15/07/2019 21:13

I've done my ill bit on Thursday and on the weekend so fingers crossed I will be fit and well for the start of the holiday.

Do you find for the first week or so you still feel like a zombie? By week two I start to feel myself again

Absolutely ready - as are the kids. Friday literally can't come soon enough!

We go away on Sat morning to Cornwall so I will be relaxing there.

Just need to finish packing and survive the next 3.5 days!

fedup21 · 15/07/2019 22:04

I almost don’t want to reply to this as I feel like people are going to pile in saying teachers think we are more stressed than anyone else and deserve holidays more than anyone else (going by previous recent threads!) but I will anyway.

Yes-I am looking forward to the holidays. I’m have an ear infection, ulcers in my mouth and cystitis! That’s usually how I know it’s the end of term.

EvilTwins · 15/07/2019 22:08

I broke up on Thursday last week and came straight down with a nasty kidney infection. It’s like my body was literally going “no, not yet... just wait a bit longer... hang on... ok... NOW!” Angry Sad Totally battered and on strong antibiotics. Not a single day off sick all year!

WishITookLifeSeriously · 15/07/2019 22:23

We're going until next Thursday! I'm not mentally prepared to break up yet as the end seems no where in sight.

CraftyGin · 15/07/2019 23:04

I’m already on the second week of my holidays :).

SabineSchmetterling · 16/07/2019 07:26

Totally ready!!! I really don’t have the end of term feeling though. I still have so much left to do in the next few days. I think I’ll be in a fair bit over the Summer but I’m really looking forward to having some time to read, relax and see family.

Yeah. I've just come off a two-week break and it's a whole ten weeks until the next one. I'm in Victoria, Australia , so there are three two-week breaks then the longer summer one every year. Plus public holidays for ANZAC Day, Labour Day, Melbourne Cup and the Queen's Birthday!! I love that you get a day off because of a horse race. And a queen .

I'm used to 9-10 week terms, but it does get a bit old by the end of week 9 with one week to go.

shithappens123 · 16/07/2019 13:41

Three more days to go...or in the words of my students 3 more sleeps till holidays 😊

Aargh. We don't break up until Tuesday next week. I am not feeling the love.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 16/07/2019 21:12

We just have to make it to Friday.

Year 6, so emotions of the pupils are running high and those who don't cope well with change are really struggling with the prospect of the move to high school. A few tempers are fraying.

On top of that we've had a concert, have leavers' service to prep and rehearse (briefly) and then we might finally limp to the finish line.

fedup21 · 16/07/2019 21:26

Just sports day, leavers assembly, party, leavers play and transition day to go!
