I've just started work as a SEN TA in a new school. They haven't sorted out access to my online payslips yet so wonder if you can advise? I'm paid a 32 hr week. This month pay in my account was £801. Does this sound about right? Many thanks for your help 😊

That is the correct calculation. Your monthly pay will be £1123.95. So you've had some deductions. Assuming you've auto-enrolled into a pension at 6% (might be slightly less) your take home pay should be £1029.

So it looks like you've paid some emergency tax. Or they haven't paid you for a complete month (eg did you start on the 5th?)

This is a good website for calculating take home pay. www.thesalarycalculator.co.uk

If your paid monthly, then the 13,400/12 should be 1120 per month. So £800 is low.

Either you have only been paid for part of the month or they have emergency taxed you. As pension and NI contributions wouldn't come to over £300.

You're not your!

It doesn’t sound right. Was it a full calendar month? eg, I started on first day of term, 5th Sept and first month was therefore only 3 1/2 weeks.

Grade E point 4 sounds right for my county. I’m a science technician, grade E but point 6. I’ll see if I can find a spine point ladder for you.

This has the grading structure but a bit out of date with the old spine points, but you can cross refer with the pay award in the previous link, grade E is spine points 4-8.

@MillicentMartha Thank you very much for that 😊 Yes, it was for a full month which is why I think it's a bit low?
