Why should I stay? 14 years in.

And just been told by Ofsted inspector I ‘talked too much’ as obs feedback.

I was modelling (with class) analytical writing of Shakespeare’s language choices. To HA Year 7.

Apparently they should just be allowed to do it and ‘have a go’. But as I don’t know any 12 year olds who read literary analysis in their spare time... how would they know what to do?

For the first time I feel like packing it in. If this is how we’re held accountable I have no idea what teaching should be any more.

Anyway, Inspector sounds like a fool!

If he’d looked properly at my books he’d have seen why we need to go through it all together. They don’t stop to ask why...
Thank you again all. I need time to process all this. Probably just as well September leaving deadline has passed!

In September you’ll have forgotten all about this!

If you can't teach, be an inspector.

If they could teach they'd be teaching and helping standards by being part of a team.

Instead, easier to snipe from the sidelines......

If you are an inspector I'd love to know why you chose to do that instead of being in the classroom or moving into management to coach your own staff.

Maybe it really is more money for less or more interesting work, rather than just because they were shit teachers?

Thank you for your support staffroom . You have been wonderful.

Chatted for a long time to one of SLT yesterday after school and she calmed me down a bit. She reassured me that I was not going mad and I made the point (clearly, I hope) that SLT need to come in to core departments and reassert their faith us. Before they lose more staff.

Truly, thank you for listening when I had to sound off in a way that I couldn’t do in any other context. Brew

Good to hear that there’s someone on SLT that listens, hope you stay in the profession!
