Do you think that your image/ appearance has an effect on children, parents, colleagues?

Is there a certain 'look' to aspire to? Are teachers with crazy hair colours, piercings, tattoos viewed differently to those in a twin set and pearls for example?

Yes: I'd have thought the first image would be seen as more conventional than the second.

There’s a middle ground. Clean, tidy, neat hair (not necessarily ‘natural’ colours), clothes suited to the day to day job i.e. I wouldn’t expect a KS1 teacher to dress as formally as a Head Of 6th Form.
