Job application help please

I volunteer in a school that is now advertising for a teaching assistant...and I would really like this job!

I've collected an application pack and the school is now closed for half term...but I have some questions, if anyone can help please?

Can I name the teacher I currently volunteer with on the application form, as a referee, if it's for a job at their own school? Or is that just odd?! I worry about being short of decent references?

When going through the essentials/desirables...can I mention I've done such and such, at said school already?

Or should my application be completely neutral? Presumably they are going to know I'm referring to their school anyway

Any help not to fluff the application form would be great. I'm already putting pressure on myself to get it right! =)

I would check with the teacher if she is ok with you using her as a referee, to be honest the head will ask her opinion anyway, just make sure you mention in your statement that you have been helping out in (eg) Miss Smith's class to get experience.

Don't do your application by hand and make sure your SPaG is amazing!

Mention transferable skills, confidentiality (particularly if you have children there) and a genuine love or like at the very least is a massive boon.
