Interviews. Should I confirm attendance?

Hi

I've been shortlisted by 3 different schools and all interviews/lesson obs are taking place this week. I have one tomorrow (and I've confirmed I'm attending) and have had the details confirmed for the other 2 today. One is the lesson obs on Wednesday and interview Thursday and the 3rd job has interview and lesson on Friday.

I've already decided that if I get offered the job for tomorrow's school, then I will accept. In that case, I wouldn't attend the other two interviews. So. The other schools both said to confirm my attendance in their emails today. Should I not confirm either way until after tomorrow? Should I say yes and then cancel after tomorrow if I need to? Should I email back and explain I have an interview tomorrow and will let them know after that?? Or should I even just go to them all, even if I'm offered the first (or second) job.

Obviously this is all counting chicken territory and I may get none of them 😫

Anyone advise on the best etiquette please?

Confirm all and then contact as necessary after tomorrow, otherwise they will think you're not interested. Good luck!

Chocmallows · 20/05/2019 21:55

Confirm, then if you get the job let them know you have been offered another job. Less pressure on you to keep options open?

As other posters have said, confirm all asap and then contact to withdraw as and when needed.
Good luck.Brew

Thanks all. I'll confirm and see what happens from there Smile

It’s not in common for people to cancel on the day for teaching interviews. At least you will have a decent reason.

Ihatesundays · 20/05/2019 22:12

Uncommon Hmm

Fair play to you as I would rather swim through crocodile infested waters than have three interviews in a week Grin
Good luck and let us know the outcome.

Grin I have to confess, the thought of 3 interviews wasn't an attractive one. Luckily, I was offered and accepted the first one, so have withdrawn from the other two 😁

Thank you everyone! So relieved to have it sorted. I can now relax half term writing reports 😆

I once had 3 interviews in a day! I was going for my NQT year though, and wasn't on final placement yet, so had some time to prepare. I got offered two of them! (Accepted one, second one rang before I could withdraw.)

Well done on the new job - enjoy your half-term now!
