Anyone else being moderated?

First time being moderated in Y6 and I'm shitting it slightly! I know it's meant to be a supportive process but we hear so many stories of moderators who have an agenda.
Reassure me it isn't that bad?

Yes I’m being moderated in Year 6 too. Last time I was done (4 years ago) it was quite a positive experience and the moderator was lovely. Fingers crossed for a good one this time. Have you got your date yet?

Thanks petal. Not yet. In our LA there's a moderation meeting for all schools who are being moderated this week. I'm presuming we'll find out then but we want to get it out the way sooner rather than later!

I got my date by email on Friday. Not being seen until 3 weeks after half term. Now just need to get the children going with more writing to fill in some of the gaps! It’s going to be hard to pick up the pace after SATs last week though. I’ve got a pyramid moderation later this week too which I’m hoping will be useful.

I’m moderating for the first time this year- so I’ll be nervous too, if that helps you feel more confident that moderators are just humans too!!Grin

Not being done myself, but I saw an excellent idea from a teacher I follow on Twitter. He gets his Y6s to edit one or 2 pieces of writing from the Autumn term using the skills/knowledge honed since then. It takes the creative bit out and leaves them able to focus solely on the editing.
