I'm considering getting HLTA status. I've been a KS1 TA for 9 years and also have a degree.

Can anyone tell me what is involved in getting the qualification, please?

You need to support of your school and HT for this. You will need to show that you have taught at 1:1, group and whole class level as you will need to write about these in your 3 main tasks and 5 mini tasks. You will need to show that you have adhered to the HLTA standards to deliver the lessons.

You will have a 3 day preparation course and then be assessed at the end of it. More info here www.strictlyeducation4s.co.uk/school-effectiveness/higher-level-teaching-assistant-hlta-status
