Thinking about becoming a teacher

I have had an interest in teaching for a few years now. Currently I am settled in a job as a nanny and have been for several years. I have vast experience with children including classroom assistant experience.

I am looking to see if anyone would advise going into teaching? It seems to get a lot of bad press for long hours and being very stressful, but I am very keen!

My husbands a teacher (not me) and I know he would never recommend it. Long hours, stress, heavy emphasis on data, large classes, and not well paid (for the hours put in).
The holidays are the one great perk, especially for childcare. But he does work a lot in them still.

He's in primary btw.
