What could I do for one days pay?

I'm looking at a job change in a different school which is 0.6 timetable. I currently teach 0.8 but love the look of this job and the school. I would need to do something to make up at least some of the pay difference, but what? The school said that they occasionally use supply but obviously that's not guaranteed on a weekly basis. It doesn't have to be related to teaching really but I could only do one day.

You could do online tutoring during the day. I have a 0.6 teaching contract and I usually tutor 2 or 3 mornings a week (Thurs-Sat) from 9.30 to 1pm (hours are flexible) The children are all based in China, lesson materials are supplied (usually PowerPoints) and they pay £11 for a 30 minute lesson. I think it's totally stress free!

Are you a secondary teacher? If so, how about exam marking? It's boring and not very well paid but I'd much rather work hard for a few weeks in the summer term and get a lump of cash than tutor every week all year round. It's usually possible to mark 2 exams in the summer, it wouldn't completely top up your money but that and a bit of supply might be enough to get you through.

No I'm primary, and round here supply isn't great as most schools just use their hltas instead, unless they need long term sick cover.

There is absolutely none available around here and the FB supply teacher page echoes this. Schools are using HLTAs as they simply don’t have the money to pay for supply.

Wow, there is a lot of supply where I am. I get calls even when I’m down not to work. I work for an agency.

Tutoring? Get in touch with a referral unit maybe, for daytime work, or some home Ed groups.

I know people who've got a lot of tutoring in the day from children who are home schooled- so doesn't have to be evenings
