In desperate need of KS2 assembly advice

Our class assembly will be after the Easter break and I'm dreading it.

Our staff has changed and we've got quite a lot of musical teachers now. Their assemblies have been absolutely great and I don't want mine to look shit! I've got a range of characters on top of that.

Can anyone recommend a really good assembly pack? ANY topic, I'll fit it in- don't want it to be babyish, but needs to be easy to sing.

Any other tips are very gratefully received.

what about an assembly on 'April Fool's Day?'
there is a script here and i would finish with by janeen brady. you can have the girls singing the part where the woman sings, and the boys the part where the man sings. When the script describes each joke, you could get the children to act them out. all the best x

Oh, i just read that it was after the easter holidays, so april fools will have past. perhaps you could do one on food waste? its international Stop Food Waste Day on the 24th April. there is an information pack here which will be adaptable to a script, and you could finish with a song such as , and then have a child say 'and christmas is only one festival of the year!'

Have a look at The Rainbow People story. I have used it a few times - good story and easy to split children into small groups to act out. Have a couple of narrators and finish with them singing the Bruno Mars song Count On Me.

All the Out of the Ark topic based assemblies are great.
