Teacher Pensions- topping them up

Has anyone here experience of topping up their teacher's pension?

Over 20 odd years, I have had some significant time out with having children, and then being PT. I am quite happy with PT and have no plans to be FT just to up the pension. (Might change later, when the children are older).

I think I could do additional pension or AVC's. So has anyone done this and was it an easy thing to get sorted?

Speak to them direct. They are the loveliest people in the world. Love the NE England accents, too.

Soooo helpful. And I was dealing with it all from Australia.

I think it is fairly easy to do AVCs. Not sure that you can actually 'top up' standard contributions.

I am an ex-TPS member so have some interest in this - report back if you find out anything useful please!
