I’ve has enough and it’s time to go, but I don’t know where to start to find an alternative.

I’ve looked on the local council website and things like Indeed, Fish4jobs and Reed. The jobs on there seem to be either

Cover supervisors in secondary schools
Social workers (loads)
IT jobs
Care homes

I just don’t know where to look?

How about school admin work? You'd have the advantage of knowing how a school works. Lots of those sorts of jobs around, though they're not v well paid at the entry level. Otherwise, a couple of ex teachers I know are now leading education within other organisations (eg visitor attractions or holiday centres which run visits for school groups).

I think the issue I am finding - and I am sure OP is the same is that you cannot leave teaching easily for equivalent pay and seniority. It is reasonably easy to leave in your early career, which is why so many do it. Once you are on UPS3 (and in my case on a fairly hefty TLR) unless you have financial security in some other form, you end up trapped somewhat. Both the non teaching jobs I applied for last year involved pay cuts : but nothing like as much as some of the roles suggested by PPs would!

I work at a university and have known ex teachers who now work within access/widening participation/outreach but I guess that's mainly with 14-17 year olds so perhaps more for ex secondary school teachers.

Have you thought about online teaching? Look at companies such as Wey Education, they run Interhigh and Academy 21, both schools are growing rapidly.
