Job ad disappeared

I looked around a school on Friday with a view to completing my application this weekend.
I asked the head about staff stability and why the vacancy had arisen (in a non confrontational way - honest). The vacancy is being covered on a temporary basis which made me think straight away - internal candidate, no point applying... anyway when I’ve gine online today to get the job number from the website the add has disappeared!
What are people thoughts on still applying - I thought the school was somewhere I could work but don’t want to waste time if it’s a done deal ( also I don’t have the job no.)
Application needs to be in on Monday so I can’t wait to phone the school first...

Similar happened to me and it disappeared because the vacancy was filled. No harm getting in touch with the office on Monday and checking though!

This happened to me in a different way . . . Toured the school, applied, got a date for the interview, did the preparation, then the job pulled at 6pm the day before the interview! It was a budgeting issue as the head was overstaffing to prepare for increased intake.
In your situation I would probably email your CV and letter just in case.

This happened to me. Luckily I'd taken a screen shot of the details and was still able to get the application in. Got invited for interview and discovered there was an internal candidate. I was disappointed as I'd worked so hard to prepare and really wanted the job. Anyway, I got the teaching job and some years later am on SLT there. If it's a job you really like the sound of I think you should apply.
