Post Grad Teacher Training Application

Hi all!

Looking for advice / guidance on what happens next in the process of applying for post grad teacher training?

I have made the application, my references have been sent and I have now been told it will take up to 40 days for the training providers to make a final decision on my application. Scary! Anyway, does anyone have any experience on how long this normally takes? Am I looking at the full 40 days, or is it generally quicker?

Also, how quick am I likely to be contacted by schools if they choose me for interviews?

All tips and advice appreciated! It's completely different to what I've been doing for the last 20 years, so pretty scared and excited!

I got 1 reply almost instantly, one took a few weeks and I never heard from the 3rd.

Depends on subject, location, other applications etc

You, or your friend, will have done this through UCAS. They will keep you, or your friend, informed via email about your, or their, application.

Also, it is not schools that will contact you (or your friend). It will be universities, as that is who will be training you (or your friend). You apply via UCAS. Universities will or will not ask you to interview. They interview you and if you are lucky they offer you a place. You then decide if you want to take up the place.

Some providers are quick, some slow-it depends! Where have you, sorry-your friend, applied?

I know how it sounds and in hindsight I could have done this better...

Basically, my friend and I were sharing a bottle of prosecco and she was telling me about an email she received from UCAS (?) saying her references had been received etc. I said she should ask Mumsnet for advice / experience on what happens next.

She doesn't have an account so I gave her my phone. Not long later we finished our prosecco and I came home! Tried to continue the thread but have no idea what I'm talking about so obviously failed...
