TA here, any other TAs who are in a Union?

Hi, hope its OK to post here as a TA. I am looking to join a Union, my job role is about to change to include some 1 to 1 work with a child who has behavioural issues (not my choice, I have been told rather than asked). I think it would be a good idea to join a Union but no idea which one, or if there is one which caters for TAs as well as teachers. Many thanks.

I'm a member of Unison. Never needed to use them, but I think it's a good idea. You never know when you might need their help. A rep visited our school and we all signed up.

Unison here too. Have never needed them personally but have helped other colleagues with difficult issues.

Join the NEU.

ATL also accept non-teaching members.

The ATL doesn't exist anymore. They are affiliated with the old NUT. The new union is the NEU, ie. The National Education Union.

You live and learn!

I'm with NEU.
Not heard great things about Unison in my school from support staff.
