WTF has happened to children this week? Is it the supermoon thing?

Holy moly mine were atrocious this afternoon- tears, snot, deliberately annoying each other, and SO LOUD.

They came back from Christmas really well as well.

I had the afternoon from hell with Year 8. I'll take the moon as an excuse.

Weezol · 22/01/2019 17:54

Not a teacher, but can confirm wall to wall idiocy present in all areas of my life this week - about to go through simple arithmetic with a qualified pharmacist...

IDontEvenDrinkVodka · 22/01/2019 17:58

I think they were all howling at each other at one point.

Not just me then!

Redcrayonisthebest · 22/01/2019 18:49

Me too!!! Is it the promise of snow??

Flinging ourselves on the floor sobbing dramatically, pinching, slapping and hitting each other Confused

(The kids that is, the staff just went home to open the gin!!)

HexagonalBattenburg · 22/01/2019 19:27

Glad it's not just my children gone insane - I thought it was just shitty parenting all of a sudden! No idea wtf is causing it though!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/01/2019 19:35

Horrible day today. #weeps

That was me after the bell had gone for home-time, I was so traumatised.

Oddly, ours were better today (I work in a PRU). Last two weeks have been really difficult. Always the same at the start of any new term, but especially Christmas, with our kids...

MissMarplesKnitting · 22/01/2019 19:43

Lost my voice a bit today. Three hours of year 7 does that. Agree. They're batty at the moment.

Bobbiepin · 22/01/2019 19:45

My a level kids were awful yesterday. When will it pass???

TheClaifeCrier · 22/01/2019 19:48

Not a teacher, I came here from active, but my kids have been awful this week. I think it's a combination of coming down from Christmas hype and general tiredness that you get in the depths of winter, plus lots of germs bubbling away.

😂😂😂 don't blame you!! I feel like joining in some days.

Jackshouse · 22/01/2019 19:50

It because it’s too dark to play out and they have broken are bored of their Christmas toys. It has also been blue Monday so adults around them are probably acking in patience and enthusiasm.

BigcatLittlecat · 22/01/2019 19:52

Children have been unbelievable!!!! My head hurts! They are lucky I still go in every day! Noone else would teach them!

MaisyPops · 22/01/2019 21:07

It's the promise of snow, and inevitable let down.
Mine were hoping for some snow days and were all psyched up for it (so was I so I could catch up on marking!)
It was a bit of an anticlimax for all concerned really.

MsAwesomeDragon · 22/01/2019 21:11

My crazy classes have been surprisingly nice the past couple of days.

So I'm sorry but the supermoon is not affecting everybody in a bad way. I'm hoping for supermoon every week.

malificent7 · 24/01/2019 01:11

My old head was a firm believer in the full moon effect. Very sensible non woo lady.

MsAwesomeDragon · 24/01/2019 19:39

My crazy classes are back to being crazy. The full moon affect seems to make mine a bit dopey.

The full moon is now gone so I've had behaviour issues coming out of my ears this afternoon.

Except for her confirmation bias about full moons!
