Who's back Monday?

I am and have mixed feelings! The Christmas tree is down and I have started getting things organised for Monday.

HoD was quite difficult last term (not just with me but generally) and so morale is quite low. We've had a tough few years as a department and could really do with a lift. However, I told a TLR so I am attempting to be very positive for the sake of the other staff - the last thing they need is miserable leaders!

I am, however, excited to be having a trainee this term and working in New ideas for the department. The kids also keep me going as my classes are generally lovely.

It will be hard with mocks and starting to prepare for the final exams but I don't mind that as it makes a difference to pupils.

Let's hope the break has cheered up the HoD!

Please excuse typos and random capital letters - on my phone!

I’m feeling a bit more positive than usual going back. No idea why! I got all my marking done before the hols so maybe that’s it, having no marking to go back to. I’m on good track with my exam groups, which is a good place to be.

However, one negative to going back is that I have the opposite problem to you in that I am a HOD and there are a couple of members of my team causing me concerns. They’re lovely people, we get on well, which makes it harder for me to deal with the concerns. Might just have to get it over with as soon as we return Confused
