Tutoring

Hi all,

I’m not due back at school from Mat Leave until June and would like to some tutoring. Mainly so I don’t get to rusty but some extra cash would be nice too!
Do I have to clear this with school? Is there anything else I need to consider such as tax?

I believe your contract will specify that you ask permission (mine does). They always say yes though, as it’s pretty standard for teachers to do this. You will have to fill in a self assessment form to report any income from the tutoring, which is a little bit of a faff.
