I’m so unhappy but I don’t feel I can leave

I only started in this school in September.

In terms of work/life balance it’s fair to say there is none: late evenings, bare minimum of PPA and all in all lots of pointless tasks.

It’s also a really unpleasant atmosphere with lots of ‘telling tales’. Anyone raising concerns is told they have a negative attitude.

I’m so sick and worried and anxious at the thought of going back.

The problem is I have never had a settler career really. I’ve never worked longer than two years at one place and I have been teaching a long time - 17 years.

I’m not sure what to do.

If you’ve moved on a lot, then why do you feel you can’t move on this time?

Me to.

Start looking for a new position. Don’t be tempted to stay working in an unpleasant environment.
