Long story short - the school has around £200-£300 to spend on resources for Science Club. We only have light microscopes, some old pre-prepared slides and dissection kits. Despite this I'm stuck for ideas on what to spend the money on. Secondary comprehensive with loads of kids interested in Science. Any ideas would be most welcome! :)

Do you have a prep room with chemical stores? The rsc has many practicals online, as do Nuffield biology which can be suitable.

The rsc also do the global experiment which is a citizen science thing ideal for pupils

You could also look at doing silver/bronze CREST awards

you could use existing resources at school and take the kids to the Big Bang fair when it’s on in Birmingham

Thanks so much - I hadn't thought of these. I'm making a list!

Are microscopes really the only equipment you have?

MumofOneofeach · 29/10/2018 20:49

hello, we have some other random bits and bobs. but mainly just microscopes.

How do you teach the curriculum without practicals?

Rockets were popular as well
