Tips for a new TA

Hi

I’m starting as a TA in a primary school very soon. I’ve never worked in this role before but I have been running after school clubs.

I will be supporting children with SEN and ‘floating’ about between classes.

I’m interested in hearing tips about how to be a decent TA from other TAs and teachers.

Be versatile, wear comfy clothes. Warm coat for breaktimes.

Be yourself, have a good sense of humour and be prepared to possibly get asked to cover other things.
Smile even when your feeling blue.
Don't take any hassle from people
Higher then you.
Sometimes I feel a bit like a dogs body.
They can also expect to much from you and tbh we don't get paid enough.
But they kids keep me going. I love seeing them
Progress x
Good luck
