NASENCO - recommendations for providers please!

I'm currently working in a primary school and, although I'm not a SENCo currently, my role works alongside the SENCo and she has spoken about me being in a great position to take it on myself she can't wait to relinquish the responsibility. I have my performance management review on Tuesday and I want to ask the Head about the possibility of doing the NASENCO as an 'aspiring SENCo'. I would be happy to do either a distance or an online course, as long as I don't have to do a presentation as part of the assessment! If you've done / are doing the award, would you recommend your provider? Are there any providers to avoid? Ideally, I'd like to get on with it sooner rather than later, so any courses that start in the new year would be great!

I did mine through the university of Herts. There were 7 face to face days plus a couple of 1:1 seminars. It was good but VERY intense!

There’s no way I would have wanted to do it online.

Thanks, that's really helpful. I'd prefer du l to do a face to face course. Typically, my local university offers the course but hasn't got much detail on their website. I'll have to give them a call. I've studied a level 7 diploma course before, so I'm under no illusion that this will be hard work!
