Does anyone else get this? I'm in my 7th year now and the lump in throat tearful feeling remains.

I get quite nervous after the holidays. I'm sorry to hear about your anxiety. Does it go away once you're at work?

NellieBee · 23/09/2018 22:10

yep. I'm up with it now.

PumpkinPie2016 · 24/09/2018 06:47

Sorry to hear you feel this way Sad I don't get it anymore but used to when I worked in my previous school. Got it at the end of holidays too - really badly Sad it's not a nice way to feel.

Could you look at trying a different school? Maybe a change would help - it certainly did ffor me

strawberrisc · 24/09/2018 06:48

Yes. Much worse when it’s the end of holidays.

ASauvignonADay · 25/09/2018 20:04

I did last year but not any more. Is there something specific that you worry about?

HopeClearwater · 25/09/2018 20:06

Joining thread as I’m in a similar position to OP. Cannot sleep well on Sunday nights and yet I’m in a decent school with friendly staff and parents, and lovely children. Anxiety kicks in on Sunday daytime.

rabbitmat · 25/09/2018 20:55

I have been getting this this term too. Feel under so much pressure for the children to make progress with regular meetings analysing the data, learning walks and book scrutinies. Poor kids are only 6.

Shadowboy · 26/09/2018 21:44

I don’t get it anymore but one school I taught in, I used to cry on Sunday night as I didn’t want to go to work. I don’t get that at all.

Shadowboy · 26/09/2018 21:44

*anymore!

luckyleeds · 30/09/2018 21:10

This is exactly how I felt when I realised I needed to leave. I'd tried 3 schools. That's not to say I don't get it ever in my new career but certainly not every week and not on that level

strawberrisc · 01/10/2018 07:31

I feel sick ☹️

strawberrisc · 04/10/2018 07:41

Thursday morning anxiety. Am drowning.

luckyleeds · 04/10/2018 08:15

@strawberrisc I don't believe it's normal or fair to you to feel that way about your job. You can change careers if you want to. Your mental health is so important. No job is worth that

strawberrisc · 05/10/2018 08:50

@luckyleeds thank you for your response. I’ve worked in far worse places and I’m lucky enough to work with my absolute best friends. Education is on it’s knees in terms of lack of funding, ferel children (not all of them) and stupid, nonsensical meetings and new fangled, pathetic and pointless “strategies”.
