Absence procedures

I wondered whether I could pick everyones' brains. I was wondering what your schools' procedures are if a child does not arrive at school and there was no communication from parents to confirm the child's absence. Would your school pick this up, how quickly and then what would happen? Eg would the school ring home? I'm interested particularly in procedures in secondary schools. Many thanks.

School would text home, probably mid-morning once the answer phone messages had been gone through.

Same as Noble. I don't know how long it would be before we get seriously concerned if there's been no contact from home tho.

Text at 9.30am, if no response start calling all named contacts at 10.30. If no response by 11am, send ESWO or member of staff to home address.

Text sent around 9:30 to everyone not registered and no reason given.

Phone call home for anyone causing a concern (eg. More than one day with no reason given, suspected holiday or safeguarding concern, or reason doesn't seem to warrant a day off)

If no response or not satisfied by the response, we'd do a home visit.
