What is your schools toileting policy for reception children in nappies?

Schools are not allowed to refuse a school place on the basis of a child not being continent.

Sorry, that doesn't answer your question. Children are supported to change themselves, wherever possible, assisted or advised by a TA.

TA does it. Policy is they must tell another member of staff they are off to do a change (although we don't use those words so the other children don't realise) and there must be another member of staff in earshot and it must be recorded in the toileting folder. Children who are capable of changing themselves do so, others are encouraged to do as much as they can do but will get help if needed. Parents of children in nappies have to sign the toileting policy to say they have read it and are happy with that.

I forgot to say that all parents have to sign a policy document to say that they are happy for staff to help with changing.
