What is your new class? Found it stressful? Any problems? Planning on changing anything? Already had enough?

First week back full time after lots of years part time. Easier than expected. No one at home has any clean clothes though HmmGrin

My first week in yr 6. Had to change to a boy girl seating plan as they were so talkative. I had to explain to a parent that actually it was not unfair to keep her ds in at lunch as poking someone with a ruler for an hour non stop was unacceptable lol.

I've quite enjoyed my first week back Grin

All my classes seem nice and I have enjoyed meeting the new year 7's Smile

I also have a Y11 class who I have taught since Y9. They had supply in Y8 and we're really challenging in the first term of year 9 but they have become one of my favourite classes. I did something that is challenging in Fri and they are set4/5 so do struggle but they were amazing and worked so hard! They made lots of progress in the lesson and I came out of it with such a smile on my face Grin

I've enjoyed getting back into a routine too! I might change my mind about that soon though Grin

My first week has gone really well. I've met all my classes, although I don't know many names from my new classes.

I've got a year 7 form who have settled in well with only a few tears about how nervous they are. They've all survived getting lost and having tests in maths and English. I'm staying to see their characters.

My new y12 class seem very nice. Year 11 are ready and willing to work hard this year (I've had them since y8, so we're very used to each other). Bottom set year 9 have all done their homework!!!!Grin year 8 seem nice, although they'll need to be trained in how much chatting is acceptable (about half of what they think is fine).

I've also had a twilight inset, and done my first cover lesson of the year (we have one lesson a week that is timetabled as cover, it's not taken out of our PPA time)

NQT, never taught Yr 5 before. Please tell me it gets better. I worked all hours last week and feel that at the moment that everything is too difficult.

It does get better! The first part of the term is the worst - I worked a lot this weekend and I wouldn’t need to do so much normally. You get set up, you find short cuts, you train the children to your ways. Work hard for the next couple of weeks and it will improve.
