Start of term hitters are setting in!

Had my first school dream last night - you know, where you dream that your classes arrive but you haven't planned anything and they are really badly behaved?!

I'm really happy at my school so there is no reason for feeling nervous but I am

Classroom is sorted and lessons are planned, practicals ordered (I teach science) so I am good to go. However, I still feel irrationally jittery - like I have forgotton everything or will somehow be 'found out' that I am actually no good at my job

I'm being ridiculous but I get the hitters every year! At least Mon is an INSET day!

Having a family gathering in Sun afternoon so at least my Sunday will be nice and I know I will be totally fine once I am back on Monday

Is anyone else having start of term nerves?

Here too. (The sea of expectant faces and not having anything prepared for them one.)

And the one where the university rings up and says there's an essay still outstanding, which means your marks have been calculated wrongly and you aren't actually qualified...

I had the dream where they gave me the wrong class, and the kids acted like it was my fault and said I 'tried too hard'!

The thing I'm most worried about for this year is having two 1-1 adults in the room, and I find it quite stressful having a constant adult audience!

11th year of teaching but starting at a new school. Jitters are in full force and I've been having nightmares all Summer! Feel much will be needed this week!

I have also survived! INSET was fine and today was the first day with kids. Met my new Y7 class who were lovely. Otherwise just had my form as sixth form aren't back until tomorrow.

I totally forgot for a moment how to do the dinner register today!! Mind you, after only a week in France I spoke to the woman at Tesco petrol station in French yesterday! I should not be left in charge.
