Just that, really. Starting a new job in a much better different school this year and I am excited and looking forward to the whole thing.

I have spent half my holidays refreshing my teaching knowledge, thinking of different ways of approaching topics and buying in new shiny resources that will come in handy (nothing big, just stickers, stamps and suchlike).

We hear so much negative stuff about the job - does anyone else really look forward to the start of a new year?

Weirdly, I am looking forward to it. I am teaching a new subject and doing a slightly different role and, although terribly nervous abut it, I am also keen to get started.

The thing I always love every year is seeing the kids again, though, - how much they've changed/grown etc and also hearing about all the great, or not so great, stuff they've done.

And I'm also looking forward to eating less ice cream and drinking less wine!!!!

I am! I am getting my favourite ever class back! I had them two years ago in KS1. I moved into KS2 last year and now my lovely class are coming back to me!
My youngest dd is starting school this year, which is very exciting. And I’m starting my NA SENCo at university.
