I’m being a twat.

Marking mock exam papers today and came across a message from one of my colourful characters shall we say.

‘I can’t answer this question because my teacher is a fat lazy cow who hasn’t taught me if.’

There was more but that was the gist.

I have no idea why it’s got to me.

That is twatty of the pupil. Pass it up to your head of dept and let them deal with the little cunt.

Try not to take it to heart. There are lots of utter twats in the world, they don't suddenly convert to the church of twattism at 18. You've just happened to cross paths with one in it's juvenile development phase.

You're not being a twat, that must have been a shock to read, and only a narcist would write something like knowing that the cow in question was going to mark it!
That's so breathtakingly arrogant.
I'd refuse to carry on marking on the basis of conflict of interest/ bias - if you fail the writer, then they can argue that you were being vindictive, but if you pass them it could look like you were trying to cover up. Pass the paper on to your HoD/ heartache, and do not mark it yourself.

Well I can hardly give anything but zero for it as she didn’t answer the question, so I’m not concerned about that.

The real irony is that I have tried to teach them i have been thwarted it is because of her behaviour.

How rude. It’s upsetting because when someone makes an accusation about us, even if blatantly untrue, our first instinct is to feel aggrieved and want to defend ourselves.

Definitely escalate it as a serious incident and let others deal with it. Consider also photocopying and sending home if parents are supportive.

Agree with the previous posters: this isn't acceptable behaviour. Please escalate and have it dealt with as a behaviour incident.

I had one who illustrated his work with a picture of him bored at a desk, me going blah blah blah and him with a thought bubble showing his thoughts.

With that little charmer he wanted to push a reaction to do the whole "I haven't done anything" routine so I marked the work as normal and ignored it totally (much to his dismay). Parents evening rolled around and the lad swaggered in with his parents assuming he was about to have another 10 minutes of how amazingly bright he was (very intelligent lad). Looked horrified and his parents looked delighted when I commented that "he is doing what's required of him but I think a child of his ability is capable of much much better and he's trying to coast a bit at the moment" then raised concerns about attitude to work and school staff and whipped out the offending drawing! Parents were livid and I think one cocky young man got bollocked at home because it was a very impressive apology I got the following morning!

Well he DID want me to react to it - I just took my time to do so!

Rude child. I hope you get the parents in. And don’t let it undermine you.
